Our Summer 2002 Cottage Vacation

After a very hectic winter, spring and early summer, Wendy and Leif treated us to a 10 day retreat at "Rick's Place" (Wendy's brother's) as a thank you for them staying at our place while their house was built. The cottage is located on a small lake about 20 minutes from the scenic tourist town of Barry's Bay, about 2 1/2 hours west of Ottawa. Cottage is a misnomer as it is actually a summer home, fully equipped with all labour saving devices, though we did have to rough it a bit as the dishwasher leaked. We had a wonderful time - just what we needed to recharge our batteries. The weather was perfect, and the lake refreshing. The cottage faces west so we were blessed with incredible sunsets most evenings. I've included pictures of a few of them on this page.

Dan, Cyndy and the two grand kids arrived a day early (they and their friends were using the cottage for the long weekend) and we had a fantastic time together as can be seen in some of the pictures below!
